Fire Emblem Heroes
Fire Emblem Heroes is a Strategy, Role Playing Game (RPG) developed by Intelligent Systems for Nintendo. Fire Emblem is one of Nintendo's core franchises, alongside Mario, Kirby, Metroid, and others. The app was launched worldwide to critical claim on February 2, 2017. Critics praised the casual gameplay elements, allowing you to pick it up and play for 10-15 minutes at a time. Fans of the Fire Emblem franchise will notice differences in the gameplay experience as the content is suited to a mobile market. You begin the game working alongside Prince Alfonse, and Princess Sharena. As protagonists of the story, they help guide you through the gameplay elements. The RPG elements are told through the story as you progress, but the meat of the game is in the strategy. To continue through the game, you unlock heroes that have abilities that can aid you in the heat of battle. Each hero can also have different weapons, giving them melee or ranged combat capabilities. Ensuring your team has a good composition of skills and fighting styles will be key to winning each round. Combat is presented in a battlefield of grids. The aim is to use the environment and your heroes to defeat your enemy before they defeat you. Some battlefields have mountains or walls in the way, which can change up the combat. Heroes can move a set number of grids each move, before defending or attacking. As heroes take part in battles, they earn experience points (XP) and with enough XP, level up. Levelling up heroes is key to progress through the content, as this unlocks stronger abilities. Levelling up awards heroes with better stats, but Skill Points (SP) are what's needed to unlock the abilities. Heroes gain a determined amount of SP each level they gain. Fire Emblem Heroes is a freemium model game. The entire game is free to play, but players can purchase some items through in-app purchases to unlock content faster.
Gmail is both a free email service and an email client for mobile. It is developed by Google, who operates the Gmail service. The app helps manage emails in to specific category types, to make sorting email easier. Gmail has the usual email client affair. Send and receive emails, attachments with ease. Threaded conversations to keep emails in check. Attachment support to send documents and files to colleagues and friends. Gmail handles email well, but it does it really well. Based on the content of the email, it can determine the type of email you have received and move it to a categorized inbox. For example, you might get an email from your favorite clothing store about a sale. When Gmail scans the email, it can determine the email is a promotion, and tag it as such. Other categories include Social (Media), Updates, and Forums. This makes it easier to sort your emails and reduce the noise. Who knows - it could help you reach that infamous Inbox Zero (a.k.a. have no emails in your inbox). Gmail is a popular client, with many people using it on their mobile. It was the first app on the Android app store to reach 1 billion installs.
YouTube is a free video sharing service. It allows users to watch and upload videos that can then be shared with people around the world. YouTube is the second most popular website in the world, behind its owner, Google. YouTube was created by three former PayPal employees in February 2005. In November 2006, Google bought the site for US$1.65 billion. The majority of video content uploaded on the site is from individuals that use the site. Some media corporations choose to upload some of their own content, such as movie trailers, or show snippets. YouTube is able to keep the service free through advertising on the site. Such advertising can be display ads, overlay on videos, or video ads that play before or during videos. Through this service, YouTube also offers a share of their advertising revenue to content creators. Content creators range from individuals to media corporations. Some of the most popular YouTube content creators make their living this way. To compete more closely with Twitch.tv, a popular game streaming website, YouTube launched YouTube Gaming in August 2015. YouTube worked with popular content creators on the site that produced "Let's Play" content. This content allowed users to watch the person behind the channel play particular video games. YouTube Gaming is a sub-site of YouTube, and remains free to use. A new service called YouTube Red was introduced in October 2015. This subscription-based service allowed users to watch videos on the site ad free. Other features included within the service include offline video, and exclusive original content. YouTube Red is said to have 1.5 million subscribers as of November 2016. The subscription service is currently rolling out worldwide. In March 2017, YouTube continued to roll out their subscription services with YouTube TV. YouTube TV is a TV subscription service, like a cable TV provider. The introductory offer includes over 40 channels and networks in the US. It is expected that YouTube TV will expand to other countries and offer more networks.
